July 2026 Updates:
- Unable to complete payment of a product/match fee via Apple Pay.
- Users on v8.5.0 of the Pitchero Club app experienced an issue completing payment of for a product or match fee using Apple Pay as the payment method. Other cards were not affected.
- The issue was promptly resolved in v8.5.2 released on Tuesday 21st July. We advise all affected users to ensure they are using the latest app version.
- Completed payment shows reference to 'Boston United FC' on Apple Pay transaction reporting.
- It has come to our attention that some payments completed via Apple Pay by users show a reference to 'Boston United FC' rather than the club's name in Apple Pay's transaction reporting.
- Pitchero works with the payment providers, Stripe and GoCardless to ensure the correct payment labelling and description is provided to the user for their security and confidence. However, not all merchants use the labelling provided as they have their own algorithms to determine the label that ourselves, Stripe and GoCardless have no control over. This is explained further in this article.
- Reference to 'Boston United FC' on Apple Pay transactions is not a Pitchero or Stripe issue, but an Apple Pay error. Please be assured that the payment has been collected by the appropriate club.
- Users can report the incorrect payment reference directly to Apple Pay. Follow the steps below:
- Go to the Settings area on your iOS device
- Tap 'Wallet & Apple Pay'
- In the Payment Cards section, tap the card used to make payment
- Tap 'Transactions'
- Tap on the payment labelled 'Boston United FC'
- Tap 'Report Incorrect Merchant Info'
- Tap 'Merchant Name'
- Tap the tick icon in the top right corner of the screen
