Manage who can purchase the product

This article explains how the club manages who can buy products in Shop and payments.

Overview

By default, all products are created with a status of 'all members can purchase'. The product is visible to all members/visible on the club's Shop page.

The club can share a link to the club's Shop and/or a specific product (e.g. on social media, in an email/message/document).

If a member has been assigned to the product, this will display prominently to the member on the Shop page of the website and in the Payments area of the member's account.

There are three products statuses:

  • All members can purchase - the product can viewed by any visitor on the club's website and can be purchased by any member via the website or the Pitchero Club app. The club can promote the club's Shop/a product in article content, social media, and club communication messages.
  • Only assigned members can purchase - the product can only be viewed/purchased by members assigned to the product. When the member is assigned to the product, a payment request will be sent to the member with a link to buy it. The member can also see the product prominently on the Shop section of the website and the Pitchero Club app.
  • Unavailable to purchase - the product cannot be viewed/purchased by any member.

 

Change the product status

Step-by-step guide:

  • Go to your club admin dashboard
  • Click 'Shop and payments' from the left-hand menu
  • Click 'Products' from the sub-menu
  • Click on the product name
  • Click on the current product status
  • In the side-bar, select the new status
  • Click 'Save changes'

 

Archive a product

We encourage clubs to create new products each season (e.g. for membership products) if the club is collecting one-off and/or instalment payments. If the club is collecting ongoing subscription payments, we advise the club to continue using the same product.

The club can archive a product that is no longer in use. This doesn't remove the product from Pitchero completely, but removes it from the immediate view on the Products page in Shop and Payments. 

An archived product can no longer be purchased by a member. Archiving a product does not cancel any subscriptions associated with assignments for the product. A member's subscription can be cancelled separately following this guide.

Step-by-step guide:

  • Go to your club admin dashboard
  • Click 'Shop and payments' from the left-hand menu
  • Click 'Products' from the sub-menu
  • Locate the product and click the options icon on the right-hand side of the page
  • Click 'Archive product'

Top tip:

  • Webmasters can still track payments for an archived product via the club admin dashboard. On the Products page, filter to include archived products.
  • The product can be unarchived. See the point above, then click on the options menu for the product (three vertical dots) and click "Unarchive product".

Please note:

  • Archiving a product in Shop and Payments prevents new purchases of the product, but it does not cancel an existing member's subscription for the product.
  • If the club no longer wishes to collect any payments for the product, the club would need to cancel the member's subscription individually by following this guide.
