Manage cards associated with payments to your club

This article covers how members can manage the bank cards on a Pitchero account used to make payments to the club.

Overview

The Manage cards page allows a member to easily add, update, or delete bank card details associated with payments they are making/have made to a club via their Pitchero account area.

This helps clubs to enable members to manage the bank card details for recurring subscriptions and when making future payments of Shop products and/or Match Fees.

Please note:

No bank (card) details are passed or stored via the Pitchero system. The details are securely managed by the club's payment provider, Stripe.

A payment token is shown to the member in their Pitchero account area so that the member can view/manage the details of how they complete payments to the club.

Add a new card

Step-by-step guide:

  • Login to your Pitchero account in a web browser
  • Click your profile image in the top right corner of the page
  • Click "Your Account" (if your account is associated with more than one club, click "Your Account" and then the club name)
  • On the Overview page, click "Manage cards" in the Quick Links section
  • Click "Add New Card"
  • Enter your new card details
  • Click "Save Card"

Once you have added a new bank card to your Pitchero account (associated with the club's Stripe payment provider account, you can mark set that card as the new default card (for an existing subscription and/or future purchases).

Please note:

After adding a new bank card, you may need to refresh the page to see the newly added card on the page.

Update the default card

Step-by-step guide:

  • Login to your Pitchero account in a web browser
  • Click your profile image in the top right corner of the page
  • Click "Your Account" (if your account is associated with more than one club, click "Your Account" and then the club name)
  • On the Overview page, click "Manage cards" in the Quick Links section
  • View the list of cards on the page and click "Set as Default" on the card you wish to set as the default.

Remove a card

Step-by-step guide:

  • Login to your Pitchero account in a web browser
  • Click your profile image in the top right corner of the page
  • Click "Your Account" (if your account is associated with more than one club, click "Your Account" and then the club name)
  • On the Overview page, click "Manage cards" in the Quick Links section
  • Locate the card you wish to remove and click "Delete Card"
  • In the overlay asking if you are sure, click "Delete"

Your bank card will be removed from the Pitchero system and the club's Stripe payment provider account.

Please note:

You are only able to delete a card that is not currently associated with an active subscription to the club.

If you have an active subscription to a club (e.g. you are making recurring payments to the club), you need to have a valid card associated with that subscription at all times.

Cancel a subscription

There isn't a way to cancel an active subscription that you have with a club in your Pitchero account area. Instead, you should contact a Webmaster/official at the club directly regarding the matter.

The club can manually cancel a member's subscription following this guide.

Troubleshooting

This section covers common troubleshooting queries:

  • Unable to see the "Manage cards" option in the account area
    • In order for the "Manage cards" option to show in a member's Pitchero account, the following criteria needs to have been met:
      • The club is collecting payments via a registered Stripe payment provider account.
      • The member has purchased a product from the club via Stripe, entering their bank card details.
  • How to update card details for an active subscription
    • If a member wishes to update the bank card/token details for an active subscription, the member should add the new card and set it as the default card before removing the existing card from the page.
  • Unable to remove a bank card from the Manage cards page
    • A member can remove a bank card(s) from their Pitchero account on the Manage cards page if the bank card/token isn't associated with an active subscription making recurring payments to the club. If the bank card/token is associated to an active subscription, the member cannot remove the bank card/token but can update the bank card/token details.
