Send an announcement using the Pitchero Club app

This article provides information on using the Pitchero Club app to send announcements to members on Pitchero.

Overview

Just like in the communications area of the club admin dashboard using a web browser, Webmasters and Team Admins can to send announcement messages to members of your Club via the Pitchero Club app.

 

How to send an announcement

Using the new Pitchero Club app

Step-by-step guide:

  • Open the Pitchero Club app on your phone
  • Tap Messages icon (speech bubble) at the bottom of the screen
  • Tap the announcement icon (megaphone icon) towards the bottom corner of the app

    • If you have unread messages in your account, the announcement icon is replaced with an options menu icon (3 vertical dots), then click 'Create announcement').

  • Select the recipients to send the announcement to

    • Tap 'Select All' at the bottom of the screen as a quick way to message everyone (at the club/associated with your team(s)). 
    • Use the filtering tools at the top of the screen to select a specific cohort(s) of members you wish to contact
  • Tap 'Next' at the bottom of the screen
  • Enter title and message
  • Toggle whether you would like replies to be enabled/disabled
  • Tap 'Send Announcement'

Frequently Asked Question: What is the difference between a message group and an announcement?

Historically, announcements sent via the Pitchero Manager app did not have replies enabled.

On the new Pitchero Club app, Webmasters and Team Admins can choose whether replies to an announcement are enabled/disabled.

  • Announcements - A Webmaster/Team Admin needs to send a message regarding a specific subject to all/selected members (using filters as a useful tool to drill down to specific cohorts). The message thread is specific to a subject (e.g. training is cancelled due to the weather).

  • Message groups - A Webmaster/Team Admin can separately create and manage a message group within the Pitchero Club app to oversee a chat thread among selected members (i.e. all members of the team). The message group is similar to WhatsApp and can be used to keep general conversations going. The message group admin can add/remove members from the message group when needed.

Using the legacy Pitchero Manager app

Step-by-step guide:

  • Log into your Manager app
  • Tap the 'Messages' button from the navigation bar
  • Tap the 'Pencil' icon at the top right
  • Enter all the recipients that you're looking to send the announcement to
  • Enter a 'Subject'
  • Enter the 'Message'
  • Tap the 'Send' Button

Please note:

Messages sent through the Pitchero Manager app are announcements. Announcements do not have replies enabled.

If you, as a Team Admin or Webmaster, wish to start a conversation with team members, you can send a message through Communication area of the club admin dashboard or the new Pitchero Club app (see the section above).
