What are product variants?

Product variants are used to create different buying options for the members, reducing the number of different products the club needs to create and manage.

For example, a membership product may be paid in different intervals including a one-off payment or monthly recurring payments.

Using product variants has two key benefits:

  • Reduces the number of products the club needs to create and report on
  • Reduces confusion for members buying a product via the website or Club app

Create a product with product variants

Step-by-step guide:

  • Go to your club control panel
  • Click 'Shop and payments' from the left-hand menu
  • Click 'Products' from the sub-menu
  • Click 'Add a new product' on the right-hand side of the page
  • Enter the product details, including a title, description and payment provider
  • Click 'Add variants'
  • Enter the details for the variant including price and payment intervals
  • Repeat for any other variants 
  • Click 'Create product'

To avoid confusion, please ensure you create all variants for a particular product before you allow members to buy the product.

Reporting which variant members have purchased

Step-by-step guide:

  • Go to your club control panel
  • Click 'Shop and payments' from the left-hand menu
  • Click 'Products' from the sub-menu
  • Click on the product name
  • On the member's paid assignment, see product variant name underneath the product name
  • Click the filter funnel icon
  • Click 'Filter by variant'
  • Tick the variant(s) you wish to filter
  • Click 'Apply filters'

You can also see this information in the product assignment or transactions export.
