This article provides information on VAT registered clubs in the U.K. generated VAT invoices for payment processing fees

Overview

VAT is included in the payment processing fees for payments collected by Pitchero and the club's chosen payment provider(s).

VAT registered clubs in the U.K. can claim the VAT back from HMRC on those payment processing fees.

The transactions export in Match Fees and Shop and Payments separates the VAT on both the Pitchero and payment provider portions of the payment processing fees.

Clubs can now generate invoices for the VAT charged in payment processing fees on a monthly basis per payment provider.

Please Note:

This feature is not available to clubs outside of the U.K. or to clubs in the U.K. that are not already VAT registered.

 

Enter the club's tax ID

Before the club can generate and download VAT invoices, the club needs to enter its tax ID in the Settings area of the club admin dashboard.

Step-by-step guide:

  • Go to the club admin dashboard
  • Click 'Settings' from the left-hand menu
  • Click 'Club Information' from the sub-menu
  • Enter the club's tax ID (this usually starts with "GB")
  • Click 'Save' at the bottom of the page

 

Download VAT invoices

Once the club has entered its tax ID in the Settings area of the club admin dashboard (see the section above for details), the club can generate VAT invoices for previous months

Step-by-step guide:

  • Go to the club admin dashboard
  • Click 'Payment Tools' from the left-hand menu
  • Click 'VAT Invoices' from the sub-menu
  • Select the month and year from the dropdown options
  • Click 'Generate VAT Invoice'
    • The invoice will be generated automatically. A new row for that month will be created in the table and show initially as 'Started', then 'Completed' when it's ready to download.
    • You may need to refresh the page after a couple of minutes to see the 'Completed' status and the download link.
  • Click 'Download'

The PDF file should be downloaded within your browser ready view and submit to HMRC.

Please Note:

VAT invoices can only be generated for payments processed by GoCardless in the last 6 months.

This does not affect payments processed by Stripe.
