      U.K. transaction fees

      This article provides information on transaction fees for U.K. clubs collecting payments online from members

      Overview

      For payments collected by the club from members on Pitchero, a transaction fee is deducted from the amount collected. The final transaction fee is based on multiple factors:

      • The club's charity status
      • The club's VAT status
      • The club's website package; Standard or Pro
      • The payment provider; Stripe Connect Express or GoCardless

      Transaction fees

      Option A

      • The club is a charity and is VAT registered

      Direct Debit and Instant Bank Payments GoCardless 1.5% + 15p 2.33% +15p VAT is removed from all fees. GoCardless offer lower fees to charities. GoCardless' fee is capped at £3.
      Credit and Debit Card payments Stripe Connect Express 1.67% + 15p 2.17% +15p VAT is removed from all fees. Stripe offers no discount to charities.

      Fees are ex VAT, as a VAT registered club will reclaim the VAT on payment processing fees.

      Option B

      • The club is a charity but is not VAT registered

      Direct Debit and Instant Bank Payments GoCardless 1.8% +18p 2.18% +18p All fees include VAT. GoCardless offer lower fees to charities. GoCardless' fee is capped at £3.
      Credit and Debit Card payments Stripe Connect Express 2.0% +18p 2.6% + 18p All fees include VAT. Stripe offers no discount to charities.

      Fees include VAT, clubs not registered for VAT cannot claim VAT on payment processing fees.

      Option C

      • The club is VAT registered but is not a charity

      VAT is removed from all fees. GoCardless' fee is capped at £4.

      Fees are ex VAT, as a VAT registered club will reclaim the VAT on payment processing fees.

      Option D

      • The club is not a charity or VAT registered
