From time to time clubs may encounter spam posts on their forums.
If there are a lot of spam posts that have been made on your forums the first thing to do is to get in touch with our Support Team on 0113 292 6070.
From there, a member of the team will be able to advise further over the phone about the best way to deal with this.
If your forum is set to public this will allow any member with the Supporter role to post on the discussion board. The supporter role isn't moderated by club Webmasters so spam users may get through.
You can set each discussion board in the Forum to private by navigating to the club control panel > Site Content > Forum. This will only allow authorised members of your club to post on the Forum.
Please be assured that we're actively working to combat these spam posts appearing on websites across our network.
When registering a Pitchero account, a user is asked to perform a number of checks to ensure that they are a human and not a form of spam robot, also commonly referred to as a spambot.
Spambots are computer programs that are designed to assist in sending spam content. Spambots typically create accounts on websites and use them to send spam messages.
Unfortunately, it's difficult to check the intentions of a user when they are registering a Pitchero account. A user may prove that they are a human but hold bad intentions.
We shall delete the accounts of any users found to have been posting inappropriate spam content on a club's forum.
