When creating a product you can either create a one-time payment or recurring payment.
A One-time payment is a one time fee for a product.
A Recurring payment is a scheduled number of payments of the same price over a period of time.
You would use this product type for monthly fees i.e. membership, tour payments etc.
Recurring payments can recur from a minimum of a payment every one month.
A Set-up fee is a one-time payment on top of the recurring fee you will pay and this will be taken on the start date of the payment. It is the equivalent of a down payment.
The End Date options for a Recurring Payments are to end; Never, On Date, and After.
When should I set the End Date as ‘Never’ for a recurring payment?
You would select the end date as Never on a product that you would like to take continuous payments for until the club or the member opts to cancel the subscription.
You would select an End Date when you would like monthly payments to end on a specific date rather than after a number of payments.
Please be aware that if a member opts to sign up for this product later than the start date the amount taken will be based on the number of months left, not the amount that members who initially signed up for the product paid.
You would use an After End Date when you wish for a total amount to be paid over an amount of time. For instance, if you have a membership product costing £200 you could also have a product that costs £20 per month that ends after 10 payments.
How should I name my club's products?
We highly recommend that you create brand new products each season.
This is so that our system can provide clear reporting information on the transactions that have been taken place.
With this in mind, please include the years of the season in your product title. For example, 'Annual Membership 2017/18'.
