Supporters vs Club Members

At the momemt you cannot add the role of supporter to any past players, or exisiting members.

We would like to tell the difference between a supporter, a registered member, and paid club member.

A supporter would be anyone who has a fleeting interest in the club (similar to a like on facebook or a follower on twitter) They may have played for the club once before and you want to keep their details on file therefore label them as a supporter. Supporter have no 'access' to the site and webmaster would have control over who becomes a supporter if they have been a player or club member in the past.

Next are registered members these are people who have registered on the site, and the webmaster has approved them to have access to the standard membership details.

Club 'paid' Member - This is for the person that has paid for membership to the club, likely to be a player or a parent or similar.
They don't have any other rights over a registered member but they are visually in as paid members.

    Absolutely agree with this request. There is no way of maintaining contact with ex-players or ex-members. They do not fit into any of the other roles in the club, but we need to maintain contact with them. The full member access it there for paid up members. We give them access to private documents such as how to apply for Twickenham tickets or seeing the club's accounts. Please consider this.

    I completely agree with what Ed Merry is saying, the differentiation between supporters and active members needs to be addressed in the membership database. From a webmaster perspective we can remove players but do want to keep interest in the club/updates about the club to ex-players.

    It would be fantastic if anyone who has paid an active membership is automatically flagged as Paid Club Member, or that on conclusion of the season they automatically lose the Club Member status until a payment is made (subject to a tolerance period)'

    As a CASC it would be useful to be able to tell an participating member (club member) from a non-participating member (supporter) can we have the facility to assign the role of supporter please.

    Do these two sentences not contradict each other? As a webmaster I want to remove club members at the conclusion of their membership, but retain them in readiness for next season when they may 'rejoin' the club, I'd also like to remove players who have moved on but who still take an interest in what the club is up to.

    Any ideas on how best to do this would be appreciated.
